Friday evenings 6:30pm - 9:30pm
In these classes you will learn a very basic,
one-rise recipe which you will use as your foundation. From there you may mix and match ingredients depending
on what you may have available. That is the beauty of making bread. Much like soup, it revels in bounty and abundance,
suggesting you loosen up your adherence to strict measures, and acknowledge and play with the gifts of Nature that may come
your way.
Given, I come from a family of Italian food-hoarders, and may come home to "gifts of excess" left by my
well-meaning Aunt or Mother. It may be 3 jars of peanut butter found on sale, a pound of cheese ends from the deli,
or a bushel of tomatoes from the ends of a community garden in Laconia. Your friend may bring you a jar of pear
jam, you may have a pumpkin left over from Halloween, or maybe you have a jar of Ginger Chutney on your fridge door that you
just will never use.......leftover rice, or a baked potato, or a half-jar of olives. These odd ingredients form the
centerpiece of your flavor-of-the-week.
